The difference between Bodywork and Massage and what World Fusion Wellness offers.

Massage: can be defined as the manual manipulation of superficial and deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue, using a variety of techniques, to enhance function, aid in the healing process, decrease muscle reflex activity, inhibit motor-neuron excitability, and promote relaxation and well-being. Massage is a “hands on” form of healing work.

Bodywork: is a term used in alternative medicine to describe any therapeutic technique that involves working with the human body, involving manipulative therapy, breath work, or energy medicine. In addition, “bodywork techniques” aim to assess or promote awareness of the “mindbody connection”, or to manipulate a person’s “energy field” surrounding the human body and affecting overall wellness, balance and health. Bodywork can involve “no touch” as well as “hands-on” techniques.

What World Fusion Wellness offers:

Holistic Bodywork. Holistic Bodywork includes modalities which correct postures, digestion, the bodies physical functions, connecting the mindbody as one, increases the flow of energy throughout the body, bringing awareness to individuals, allowing healing to happen on all levels: emotional, physical and spiritual.

Our specialty therapies are holistic in that they stress increased self-awareness and intelligent use of one’s body as one of the goals of treatment. Some of these therapies use verbal discussion, visualization or guided imagery along with movement education to help clients break old patterns of moving and feeling. Although most bodywork therapists do not address mental disorders. Directly in their work with clients, they are often knowledgeable, However, this is what makes us so unique in the way that we have certified hypnotherapists that also do “hands off” (Reiki, Qigong, etc.) and “hands on”bodywork (Zone technique, etc.) so we can address specific emotions as depression, anger, or fear, helping you to release those hindering feelings or sense of the hindering emotions from your mind and body, we call it “mindbody therapy” since we work both at the same time, ridding your body of the heaviness, you leave feeling or sensing a lightness over your body, a weight lifted that you may have been carrying for awhile causing physical dysfunction or illness within your body.

” When you touch a body, you touch the whole person, the intellect, the spirit, and the emotions” – Jane Harrington.
