WHAT IS THE LYMPHATIC SYSTEM?
The lymphatic system is basically the waste receptacle of the body and is a branching tree like system that is ‘attached’ to our blood vessels so it can absorb fluids (inflammation) and toxins from the vessels and the blood and divert these substances to the kidneys for elimination in the urine. Because of the toxins in the air and in our foods, the lymph system is stagnant and can’t function at an optimal level. Stimulation of the lymphatic system then allows it to function properly in cleansing our bodies. Lymphatic drainage is the process of opening up the lymphatic system so our bodies function properly, our immune system remains strong, we stay well, and are better able to fight diseases.
We specialize in our own method of manual lymphatic drainage. With knowing that every “body” is different, MLD (manual lymphatic drainage) is still the best option for people who want to see, feel and sense a difference in their daily lives. We also open up the lymphatic system within your organs including the spleen. The spleen is a small organ inside your left rib cage, just above the stomach. It’s part of the lymphatic system (which is part of the immune system). The spleen stores and filters blood and makes white blood cells that protect you from infection. Many diseases and conditions can affect how the spleen works. We help to keep the gateways open. In our lymphatic drainage method we follow the flow of the body and Qi energy feeling where that is stagnated opening it up to flow. Helping any anxiety within the nervous system to get removed. This helps to promote a clear head, focus and deeper sleep for your mind-body.
We generally recommend 6-8 sessions for 6-8 weeks in a row to really get the system to turn back on optimally and work for itself.
After that 1-2 times a month could be optimal depending on your daily routines.
Remember every body is different so depending on your wellness routines things can fluctuate.
3 of the biggest things that cause the lymphatics to get blocked:
- Stress (yes stress which is in most everyones everyday life, this is why things like meditation, movement, affirmations, and other things that work for us as individuals.)
- The foods we eat, salts, sugars, alcohol, highly processed foods, are the biggest culprits. ( with saying that: its life, we should never overly restrict ourselves in anyway, thats why maintaining a lymphatic system that is flowing can still indeed help with eliminating the waste produced. Remember its about balance.
- Medications and vaccines can cause lymphatic dysfunction. If your body is already full of toxins with congestion some medications and vaccines are not able to process through like intended. This can cause issues within your lymphatic system, as well as, other systems or organs within your body. Having a daily self care regiment can help you. (Elevating your legs while reading, relaxing, meditating or watching tv. Drink at least 64oz of water a day, add peppermint, lemon, lime, berries or speramint for digestive benefits. Ending your showers switch between hot (not too hot) and cold water for 3-5mins. Minimum which opens your lymphatic system.
